Director of Education

Dr Sara De Freitas

Dr Sara de Freitas is a committed educator with 25 years’ experience in the education sector. Working up to Deputy Vice Chancellor level in universities in the UK and Australia, Sara has led large organization-wide initiatives in transnational, online and blended education provision and developed educational technology applications. She is well known for her work with teachers, educational models to improve student engagement and for supporting strategic and operational development in different educational settings. Sara has published extensively on online education including 7 books and 100 journal and conference papers. She is a Fellow of the University of London, Royal Society of Arts and the Business Excellence Institute. She is proud of her work supporting the education of over 110,000 students worldwide.

Associate Dean – InterHigh

Dr Chris Enos

Dr Chris Enos has over 27 years’ experience in education with a wealth of senior leadership experience in the independent sector most recently as Deputy Head. At InterHigh, he leads a team of three faculty heads and a large group of highly trained and qualified teachers. Chris will provide operational leadership and inspirational motivation for his academic team.

Paul Daniell

Associate Dean – Curriculum and Portfolio

With an MSc in Industrial Management Paul worked in Production Management in the Automotive Industry for 12 years. Completing a PGCE with the Open University he taught at physical secondary schools for 10 years before creating InterHigh Online School, teaching and leading the school for 14 years. At InterHigh, Paul is now responsible for Curriculum Development and Learning Developments.

David Townsend

Associate Dean – Quality and Evaluation

At InterHigh, David is responsible for leading our quality assurance work at Wey Education, making sure that we are working at optimum levels in all our education activity. He co-ordinates the formulation of education policy for InterHigh and Academy 21 and the monitoring and evaluation activity across the organisation with school leaders. David was previously a senior leader in education in local government and formerly one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors at Ofsted.

Tom Evans

Associate Dean - Innovation and Learning Experience

Tom holds a Masters degree in Modern History from Swansea University. He has a background in hospitality and retail management having previously worked in Primary schools and outdoor education with children with additional learning needs. At InterHigh, Tom is responsible for the student experience including health and well-being of students, innovation of new technologies, parent engagement and learning data.

Roxanne Pearce

Head of Faculty – Science

Roxanne has been with Interhigh for more than 8 years and held leadership roles for most of these. At InterHigh, Roxanne is responsible for the Sciences Faculty, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Science and STEM. Roxanne has a passion for innovative technology and natural sciences as well as the mathematics that underpins them.

Fiona Henderson

Head of Faculty – Arts

Fiona comes from a fine art background and is an arts educator with over 20 years' experience teaching and leading teams in Independent and International schools. Fiona's previous role was as Faculty Head for Art and Design, at an ESF school in Hong Kong. At InterHigh, Fiona is responsible for the Arts Faculty, including English, Modern Foreign Languages, Art, Photography, Music, Drama, Media and Film studies.

Jennifer Phipps

Head of Faculty – Humanities and Social Sciences

With a PGCE in Secondary History and qualification from The National College of School Leadership, Jennifer has over 20 years of experience teaching in British secondary schools, as both a classroom teacher and head of department. At InterHigh, Jennie is responsible for leading the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty, subjects including History, Geography, RS, Sociology, Psychology, Business Studies and Economics.

Open events are hosted by InterHigh’s expert staff and teachers. Through the course of the event, we discuss the curriculum, demonstrate how live lessons work and explore the learning platform.

How We Teach

Timetabled lessons are delivered in live, interactive online classrooms by a professionally qualified teacher. Students are encouraged to engage and interact throughout and have 24/7 access to multiple resources including the cloud-based lesson library.
